Welcome to Year 3!

Our hard working Year 3 Teachers:
o Mr Howe – Mars Class
o Ms Tyrell – Venus Class
o Ms Patel – Pluto Class

Our helpful Year 3 teaching assistants:
o Ms Ward supports us in Literacy.
o Mrs Blackmore supports us in Maths.
o We also have other teaching assistants that help us.

This year we will be studying a range of topics in our subjects: Early Civilisations, The Stone Age and Ancient Greece in History; healthy food, our skeletal system and rocks in Science and our local area in Geography. We also have curriculum-related trips to look forward to – how exciting!

Please remember to keep your PE kit in school. You should have: a white t-shirt, a pair of black shorts and black plimsolls. Take it home at the end of the half term.

Homework
Remember that you should be reading every day for at least 20 minutes on Bug Club. Your teacher will be checking daily and awarding dojos for all your green answers!

Each week, you will receive your spellings from your Accuracy teacher. Spend some time practicing how to spell them and trying to use them in full sentences.

Homework for grammar and maths will also be set on Education City. This website is so much fun; take some time to explore the other features such as times table games and Science and language activities.

Able to help out more? There is an opportunity to help out with reading on ‘First Friday’ – the first Friday of every month, from 1:45 – 2:45. No experience is necessary, just a desire to help out and a willingness to share a love of books. A member of school staff will be on-hand throughout the afternoon to assist and answer any questions. Upcoming dates for this event are:

6th January 2017
